Ryan Murphys upcoming series The Beauty is set to feature a lineup of high-profile guest stars. Among those joining the show are Bella Hadid, Isabella Rossellini, and Meghan Trainor, according to the Disney-owned network, which also confirmed the series will premiere on January 21.
Additional guest appearances will include Amelia Gray Hamlin, Ari Graynor, Ben Platt, Billy Eichner, Jessica Alexander, Julie Halston, Lux Pascal, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Peter Gallagher, Vincent DOnofrio, Jaquel Spivey, Jon Jon Briones, and John Carroll Lynch.
Marketed as a global thriller, The Beauty explores the outbreak of a sexually-transmitted disease that makes those infected exceptionally attractive before they experience violent deaths. This crisis upends the high-fashion world and prompts an international investigation led by FBI agents Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall), starting in Paris.
The investigation soon leads to a confrontation with The Corporation (Ashton Kutcher), a secretive tech mogul who has developed a miracle drug called The Beauty and will stop at nothing to defend his massive empire. His lethal enforcer, The Assassin (Anthony Ramos), enforces his will. As the epidemic spreads, Jeremy (Jeremy Pope), an outsider caught in the chaos, seeks meaning while the agents race through Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York to prevent a global catastrophe.
The series will launch with the first three episodes airing on FX at 9 p.m. ET/PT, on Hulu at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, and on Disney+ internationally. The remaining episodes in the 11-episode season will be broadcast on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX and 9 p.m. ET on Hulu, with the final two weeks featuring double-episode releases.
The show is adapted from the comic book series by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. It is created and written by Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, who also serve as executive producers along with Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, Michael Uppendahl, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Gitter, Peter Schwerin, and Jeremy Haun. Production is handled by 20th Television.
The Beauty will premiere on January 21 on FX and Hulu.
