This year, Puerto Rican icon Bad Bunny has been named the Global Top Artist, amassing over 19.8 billion streams and surpassing Taylor Swift, who previously held the position.

Bad Bunny, set to headline the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, has now earned this distinction four times in total. Following him in the Top 5 are Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish.

In recent years, Swift had dominated the charts, reclaiming the top spot from Bad Bunny, who led the global streams for three consecutive years starting in 2020. Spotify commented on the achievement, highlighting the worldwide reach of music today and the rising popularity of Spanish-language and regional genres across borders.

The most-streamed album this year is Bad Bunnys DeB TiRAR MS FOToS. It is followed by the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack and albums from last year, including Billie Eilishs Hit Me Hard and Soft, SZAs SOS Deluxe: LANA, and Sabrina Carpenters Short n Sweet.

The title for most-streamed track globally goes to Bruno Mars and Lady Gagas collaboration Die with a Smile, which achieved over 1.7 billion streams. Other top songs include Billie Eilishs BIRDS OF A FEATHER, ROS & Bruno Mars APT., Alex Warrens Ordinary, and Bad Bunnys DtMF.

Spotify remains the largest streaming service worldwide, controlling approximately 31% of the market. Its user base has grown to 713 million, with 281 million subscribers, spanning more than 180 countries.

Controversies in 2025
