Tammie Rosen, a distinguished figure in film festival communications, passed away Wednesday morning following a battle with cancer, according to the Sundance Institute. She had been serving as Chief Communications Officer at Sundance since 2020, guiding the institute and its festival through significant changes in the independent film landscape post-pandemic.
Prior to her role at Sundance, Rosen was Executive Vice President of Communications and Programming at Tribeca Enterprises from 2007 to 2019. Her leadership there helped shape the organizations identity and expand its global influence.
Tammie was an extraordinary leader whose integrity, compassion, and dedication left a lasting mark. She conveyed the Sundance Institutes story with authenticity and heart, reflecting her deep connection to our mission, said Ebs Burnough, Board Chair of Sundance Institute.
Burnough added, Her ability to inspire and connect with others was unmatched. She led with purpose, empathy, and excellence. Her warmth, generosity, and laughter were contagious, and her intelligence and character motivated colleagues throughout the industry. She was unique, and her presence will be profoundly missed. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Tribeca founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal also honored Rosens contributions, noting her role in shaping the company from its early days. Tammie joined us in 2004 just days before the third Tribeca festival, initially co-leading our PR account with Rubenstein. By 2007, she became a full-time member, dedicating the next 16 years to building Tribeca, they said.
They continued, Her passion, commitment, and selflessness were evident in every endeavor. She championed filmmakers, arts, and community while extending Tribecas reach to Rome, Beijing, Doha, and into music, sports, and innovation. Tammies energy, ethics, humor, love for Bruce Springsteen, and signature red lipstick made her unforgettable. We extend our deepest condolences to her mother Sheryle, sister Stefani, brother Brian, and all who knew and loved her.
