Valerie Bertinelli Gets Emotional Meeting Elmo: 'My Heart is Full'

Valerie Bertinelli recently shared a heartwarming encounter with the beloved Sesame Street character, Elmo. On December 4, the 65-year-old actress and chef posted a carousel of three photos on Instagram capturing her joyful meeting with the iconic Muppet.

In her post, Bertinelli wrote, "Be still my heart. I am not embarrassed to admit I got incredibly excited and even choked up meeting the one and only @elmo." She also described herself as a lifelong fan of the character.

Elmo, accompanied by Emmy-winning performer Ryan Dillon, made the moment even more special. Bertinelli expressed her gratitude, adding, "It was such a pleasure to meet you and thank you for keeping Elmo alive in our hearts."

While Sesame Street was part of her own childhood, Bertinellis appreciation for the character has deepened while raising her son, Wolfgang Van Halen, 34, with her late ex-husband Eddie Van Halen. Bertinelli frequently shares memories of her family, including Wolfgangs musical journey and their shared moments with Eddie.

In a November Instagram post, she highlighted a song performance by Wolfgang, reflecting on the emotions it stirred. "Wolfies new arrangement on this tour amazes me; my heart swells and tears come easily," she shared, praising her sons artistry and resilience.

Bertinelli and Wolfgang have maintained close family traditions, especially during the holidays. In past years, Thanksgiving has taken them to unique locations depending on Wolfgangs tour schedule. Bertinelli recounted celebrating in Milan with his band Alter Bridge, enjoying a non-traditional Thanksgiving, and another year at a restaurant in Secaucus, New Jersey, surrounded by family and friends.

For the upcoming holiday, Bertinelli revealed, "This year well be in Kansas City. Wherever Wolfs bus goes, thats where well be celebrating Thanksgiving."
