Was a contestant from season 18 of "RuPaul's Drag Race" actually disqualified? Discord Addams reveals all in an exclusive interview

Discord Addams, one of the stars of RuPaul's Drag Race season 18, has addressed rumors claiming she was removed from the competition. The Florida-based performer told Entertainment Weekly that stories about her being disqualified are completely false.

Theres a rumor I got in a fist fight over an eyelash curler, Discord explained, clarifying the misconception. She and 13 other queens are competing for the $200,000 grand prize on the new season.

Although Discord is known for her punk stylesawing metal plates on her body during performances and playing guitar in a bandshe assures fans that she has not caused any real discord on set. Earlier this year, speculation arose that a contestant had been expelled from the Emmy-winning MTV show, which returns this January. Discord confirmed exclusively to EW that she remains part of the cast.

Addressing an alleged social media post from All Stars 5 winner and Marvel's Ironheart actor Shea Coule, Discord said the situation was "just playful," but the internet misinterpreted it. Theres a rumor going around right now that Im disqualified from this season. Like, were not even having this conversation right now. Im not even here, she joked while recounting the fictitious version of events, emphasizing that she is very much part of the show.

Discord also mentioned past rumors claiming she fought over an eyelash curler, which supposedly led to her supposed ejection. She traced the misinformation back to the interaction with Shea, noting their past friendship when Discord lived in Chicago, Sheas hometown. Shea and I are friends. I have pictures with Shea. That was my girl, she said.

The queen, originally from Ohio, described herself as the blueprint of punk drag, with 14 years of stage experience and collaborations with industry figures like James St. James. She shared that her path to Drag Race wasnt always easy, as audiences in her early days didnt understand her punk drag aesthetic, sometimes reacting violently during performances.

Now, Discord will compete alongside 13 other contestants, including performers connected to former RuGirls such as Plane Jane, Morphine Love Dion, Bosco, and Irene the Alien.

Season 18 of RuPaul's Drag Race premieres Friday, January 2, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, with new episodes of Untucked airing immediately after.
