When Will 'Watson' Make a Comeback in 2026?

As 2025 draws to a close, holiday breaks are arriving for many favorite TV shows, including Watson, the CBS drama starring Morris Chestnut, now in its second season. However, when it returns in 2026, viewers will notice a significant shift in its airing schedule.

The show was initially set to return for Season 2 during midseason, but it swapped places with the new drama CIA and moved to Mondays at 10/9c following FBI in the fall lineup. In 2026, this schedule will change, and there will be a pause of several months between new episodes, partly due to the Winter Olympics in February, which typically leads networks to adjust their programming.

Watson Fall Finale

The final new episode of 2025 is scheduled for Monday, December 15, at 10/9c. Season 2, Episode 10, titled Never Been CRISPRd, will see the return of Nat Faxon as Hobie and Robert Carlyle as Sherlock Holmes. The episodes plot involves Watsons biohacker friend Hobie rushing his girlfriend to the Holmes Clinic after a gene-editing experiment goes awry, while Watson starts suspecting Sherlock of something unusual.

Prior to that, Season 2, Episode 9, aired on December 8, features Shannon Purser from Stranger Things as a guest. In Shannon Says Bex Loves Micah, Watson assists Lailas (Tika Sumpter) son Micah after he suffers an injury in a car accident while following his crush Bex and interacting with his AI chatbot.

Watsons 2026 Schedule

In the new year, Watson will move from its Monday 10/9c slot to Sundays at 10/9c. New episodes are set to return on Sunday, March 1, 2026, following the premieres of Y: Marshals and Tracker.

Reason for Schedule Change

Watson has been airing after FBI for its 2025 run. In 2026, the new drama CIA, a spin-off of FBI, will take that post-FBI slot, prompting Watsons shift to Sundays.
