Mother devastated after her three young children perish in Thanksgiving Day fire at their father's apartment

A mother in Wisconsin shared her heartbreak after losing her three young children in a fire at their fathers apartment on Thanksgiving Day. Jourdan Feasby expressed her disbelief in an interview with CBS 58, saying, "It just doesn't seem real yet to me I can't believe that this is my reality right now."

Feasby spent the Thanksgiving morning with her children Rylee Levi, 10, Connor Liam, 9, and Alena Ellen, 7 before sending them to their fathers home for the evening. Later that night, around 10:30 p.m., Kenosha police and fire units responded to a fire at a multi-family apartment building.

Images from the scene showed a charred building with police tape surrounding the area. According to police reports, Rylee and Connor died in the fire, while Alena was airlifted to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Feasby described the devastating shift from holiday excitement to mourning, saying, "I was so excited for Christmas shopping but now it's just caskets. They brought all of this light that now I don't have."

A GoFundMe campaign created for the family had raised over $40,000 by the following day. The fundraiser described the children as "joyful, loving, full of personality, and deeply cherished by everyone who knew them."

The childrens father received treatment for smoke inhalation at a local hospital. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. Feasby reflected on the unimaginable tragedy, stating, "No parent should ever have to bury their children, let alone all three at once."

She also shared her thoughts on the fragility of life: "You can sit here and say all you want to, and say that I would've done this, this, and this, but when you're in the situation, it's completely different. But I will tell you that if I was in that situation, without a doubt, my kids would've been out or I would've been dead with them."

Feasby concluded with a heartfelt message for other parents: "I feel so alone, to go from having my whole world to nothing. Hug your babies and enjoy them this Christmas because you could've been in my position and you never know when it's the last day."
