Caroline Kennedy Supports Son Jack Schlossberg at First Campaign Event Following Daughter Tatiana's Terminal Diagnosis

Caroline Kennedy was recently seen attending the inaugural campaign event for her youngest son, Jack Schlossberg, who is running for Congress in New York City. This public appearance is particularly notable as it comes shortly after her daughter Tatiana Schlossberg revealed she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Caroline, the only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy, shares three children with her husband, Edwin Schlossberg: Rose, 37; Tatiana, 35; and Jack, 32.

Jack Schlossberg launched his campaign for New Yorks 12th Congressional District with visible support from his mother. Photos and videos shared on Jacks Instagram Stories on December 2 showed Caroline, 68, attending the event on the Upper East Side. The gathering was hosted by Charles Myers, founder of Signum Global Advisors.

In one shared clip, Caroline a former U.S. ambassador and private figure was seated near the front, observing her son deliver a speech highlighting Manhattans historic role in American democracy and its potential to inspire a next revolution in restoring public trust in the U.S.

Jack, a vocal Democrat, announced his candidacy via email to supporters on November 11, following the retirement announcement of longtime Representative Jerry Nadler. In an interview with The New York Times, he emphasized the importance of Congress in tackling key issues such as the cost of living, corruption, and constitutional challenges.

Over the years, Jack has cultivated a significant social media presence, often blending humor, provocative commentary, and reflections on his familys legacy. He has defended his online approach as a strategic way to engage the public and spark discussion.

When Jack declared his campaign, Caroline praised his use of social media in a rare interview with The New York Times, acknowledging his willingness to take risks and face potential backlash in order to communicate effectively with a wider audience.

Shortly after Jacks campaign launch, Tatiana Schlossberg shared her terminal cancer diagnosis in an emotional essay for The New Yorker. She revealed she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia following the birth of her second child in May 2024, after routine testing detected abnormalities in her white blood cell count. Tatiana, 35, described learning she had less than a year to live and detailed the support she has received from her family during her treatment.

Caroline Kennedy has remained present and supportive throughout her childrens endeavors, balancing her support for Jacks political ambitions with the familys care for Tatiana. If elected, Jack would continue the political legacy of his grandfather, President John F. Kennedy, who began his career in the U.S. House of Representatives.
