On Wednesday, House Democrats from the Oversight Committee unveiled previously unseen photos and videos from a Caribbean island once owned by Jeffrey Epstein. The release sheds new light on locations tied to Epsteins long history of sexual abuse against young women and girls.
The materials reveal multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a room containing what looks like a dentists chair surrounded by wall-mounted masks. One image shows a landline telephone with speed dial labels for names such as Darren, Rich, Mike, Patrick, and Larry. Several videos capture the luxurious estate, featuring a swimming pool, palm trees, and a scenic path overlooking the ocean. A photo also appears to show a study with a blackboard displaying words like power, deception, plots, and political.
A Democratic aide to the committee told CNN that all visuals were taken on Little St. James Island in the US Virgin Islands and had never been publicly released. Names of women visible in the photos were redacted for privacy.
This disclosure follows President Donald Trump signing legislation requiring the Justice Department to release Epstein-related documents, which are expected in the coming days.
Representative Robert Garcia, the senior Democrat on the Oversight Committee, commented, These images provide a disturbing insight into Epsteins world. We are releasing them to ensure transparency and to help uncover the full scope of his crimes.
Little St. James, sometimes called Little St. Jeffs, along with nearby Great St. James, was privately owned by Epstein, who frequently hosted influential and wealthy guests. These islands enabled him to run his illicit operations largely out of public view. Virginia Giuffre, a prominent victim, described in her memoir how Epstein trafficked her on the island, recounting extreme abuse by him and another world leader.
Both islands were sold to billionaire Stephen Deckoff in 2023. Deckoff has not commented publicly regarding the purchase.
Last month, the Oversight Committee requested documents from US Virgin Islands Attorney General Gordon Rhea to further investigate Epsteins activities on the islands, including potential exploitation of local laws and settlements involving law enforcement. Republican Rep. James Comer, committee chairman, emphasized that these documents are vital for ongoing investigations into Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and related federal inquiries.
The committee is also pursuing additional leads, issuing subpoenas for Epsteins financial records from JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank, believing these may reveal further information. Investigators continue to seek an interview with Maxwell, who intends to invoke her Fifth Amendment rights. The committee has also threatened contempt charges if Bill and Hillary Clinton fail to comply with deposition requests.
