Fantasy Football Rankings: Top 10 reserve running backs for Week 14

Last season, running backs largely avoided major injuries, but the position remains one of the most physically demanding in football. Fantasy managers who anticipate changes and understand which backups are next in line for touches will maintain a competitive advantage.

Knowing which backups can climb the depth chart, take on a leading role when injuries occur, or simply contribute as part of a committee is crucial. Heres a ranking of the top backup running backs for Week 14, focusing on their fantasy potential for the remainder of 2025.

1. Monangai, Chicago Bears

Monangai has claimed the top spot due to impressive performances and the Bears strong rushing attack. Sharing the backfield with DAndre Swift, he has played nearly 49% of offensive snaps in the past two weeks. He has scored a touchdown in four consecutive games and recently recorded his second 100-yard game of the season. In Week 9, he totaled 198 scrimmage yards on 29 touches as a starter for an injured Swift, demonstrating his capability. With Chicagos rushing success, Monangai offers consistent RB3 production and could rank as a top-12 option if Swift misses time.

2. Montgomery, Detroit Lions

Under new play-caller Dan Campbell, Montgomerys touches have diminished, with three straight games of 10 or fewer carries. This limits his fantasy output to a TD-dependent RB3. However, his upside remains high if Jahmyr Gibbs were sidelined, giving him RB1 potential.

3. Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks

Walker has reestablished himself as Seattles lead back, out-snapping Charbonnet in every game since Week 8. Charbonnet remains relevant as a TD-dependent RB3, capable of becoming a top-12 fantasy option if Walker is unavailable.

4. Hubbard, Dallas Cowboys

After missing time due to injury and sharing snaps with Rico Dowdle, Hubbard has regained form. In Week 13, he gained 124 scrimmage yards and scored a receiving touchdown. Dowdles efficiency lagged, leaving managers with a split-backfield dilemma. Hubbard currently projects as an upside RB3, while Dowdle remains an RB2 candidate.

5. Tuten, Jacksonville Jaguars

Tuten has been limited to 30 yards or fewer in nine of his last ten games but has scored four times. The rookie has shown potential when given opportunities and remains an RB3/flex option, just one injury away from significant fantasy relevance.

6. Corum, Los Angeles Rams

Corums stock seemed set to rise when Kyren Williams briefly left last weeks game, but Williams returned healthy. Still, Corum has surpassed 55 yards in three of his last five games. As the No. 2 back in Sean McVays system, he offers consistent fantasy value and should be rostered in all leagues.

7. Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons

As the backup to Bijan Robinson, Allgeier remains productive, recording seven touchdowns this season. He provides flex value and could perform as a top-20 RB if Robinson were unavailable.

8. Robinson, San Francisco 49ers

Christian McCaffreys backup, Robinson, offers limited flex value but demonstrated over 1,100 scrimmage yards and nine total touchdowns last year. He would be a top-20 fantasy option if McCaffrey misses time. With the 49ers on a bye, this is an ideal week to stash him ahead of the playoffs.

9. Stevenson, New England Patriots

Stevenson is currently the teams secondary back, though he has recently out-snapped TreVeyon Henderson. In this role, he is an RB3 with RB2 upside when scoring opportunities arise.

10. Gainwell, Philadelphia Eagles

Gainwells snaps have declined over the last three weeks as Jaylen Warren recovers. He remains a valuable RB3/flex option, but could reach RB2 with RB1 upside if Warren were sidelined, as demonstrated earlier in the season.
