College Basketball Player Throws Punch at Opponent Following Dunk in Chaotic Encounter

Emotions flared during a college basketball matchup between the Santa Clara Broncos and the Utah Tech Trailblazers on Wednesday night.

In the final moments of the game at the Leavey Center in Santa Clara, Utah Tech guard Chance Trujillo reacted violently after being dunked on by Santa Clara forward Allen Graves. Graves slam, which gave the Broncos an 86-77 lead with just over a minute remaining, appeared to trigger Trujillos outburst.

Video footage captured Trujillo delivering a punch to Graves head. Graves attempted to retaliate, but his teammates and coaching staff quickly intervened to prevent further escalation. Referees issued technical fouls to both Trujillo and Graves, as well as to Santa Claras Brenton Knapper.

Santa Clara went on to secure a 90-80 victory. Trujillo, who averages 5.4 points per game, may face additional disciplinary action, though no suspension has been announced yet.

With this win, Santa Clara improves to an 8-1 record and is set to play New Mexico on the road this Saturday. The Broncos aim to return to the NCAA tournament, having last appeared in March Madness in 1996 under future Hall of Famer Steve Nash, when they were eliminated in the second round by the Kansas Jayhawks.
