Following this daily routine can make you feel 10 years younger, according to a mobility coach — and no, it's not stretching

If you have just 12 minutes in the morning, you can complete this 10-minute mobility sequence that a coach claims can make you feel 10 years younger. All you need is a yoga mat no other equipment required.

Designed by Yoga instructor Katherine, this brief session focuses on opening up the body, increasing joint mobility, and easing tension. Unlike typical yoga routines, this one runs on a timer without verbal instructions, making it feel more like a workout. Youll need a screen to follow along.

During the 10 minutes, the routine targets major areas including the hips, hamstrings, inner thighs, spine, upper back, and waist. By the end, you should feel taller, more flexible, and less stiff.

While theres ongoing discussion about stretching versus mobility exercises, mobility combines strength, control, and movement to improve joint range of motion. This approach can lower injury risk and better prepare the body for physical activity. After all, running with stiff hips or tight hamstrings is challenging.

Focusing on active, controlled motion, the routine doesnt include the deep openings common in yin yoga or traditional stretching. However, it concludes with a "posterior chain nerve release," which Katherine describes as intense but highly effective. To perform it, sit with legs extended, fold your chest toward your thighs, and hold. This deeply stretches the mid to upper back as the spine rounds naturally. For extra benefit, tuck your chin gently toward your chest to stretch the muscles along the spine, including the cervical region.

Practicing both flexibility and mobility helps maintain functional movement with age, supporting everyday activities with less discomfort and limitation.
