Lawyer: Wife of Missing Football Coach Facing Child Pornography Charges Did Not Assist in His Escape

The family attorney of Travis Turner, a missing high school football coach from Virginia, stated this week that Turners wife did not assist him in evading law enforcement.

Turner, 46, was last seen by his wife on November 20, one day before she reported him missing. Days later, Virginia State Police announced 10 charges against him, including five counts of possessing child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.

His wife was not helping him escape; she was seeking help to locate him, said Adrian Collins, attorney for the Turner family. The family continues to fully cooperate with authorities. Their properties have been searched multiple times with consent.

Collins emphasized that the family remains deeply concerned about Turners safety but hopes he will be found and given a chance to defend himself in court.

A Virginia State Police spokesperson declined to comment on whether investigators are focusing on Turners wife. There are no updates to share at this time. The search continues with support from the Marshals Service and FBI. Public assistance is still requested to help locate Turner, the spokesperson said.

According to the family, Turner was last seen walking into nearby woods with a firearm, a practice he had done occasionally in the past. When he did not return home that evening, his wife reported him missing the following day.

The family noted several unusual factors that heightened their concern: Turner left his car, keys, wallet, cash, glasses, contact lenses, and prescribed medications at home. It is not typical for Travis to disappear or stay away, Collins said, adding that criminal charges were filed only after he had failed to return home for several days.

Collins also shared a message to Turner: If you can respond, your wife and children are in distress. Leslie asks you to come home and face the allegations in court. Do not leave your family to face this alonethey love and miss you and remain your support.

Turner is currently considered a fugitive by Virginia State Police as authorities continue the search for him.
