Village People to perform Trump anthem at FIFA World Cup draw

FIFA has revealed the lineup for the 2026 World Cup draw, taking place on Friday, December 5, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The event will be co-hosted by comedian Kevin Hart and supermodel Heidi Klum, who previously led the 2006 World Cup draw in Germany. "Returning to this stage, now with three host nations and 48 teams, is a remarkable honor," Klum remarked.

The draw will feature musical performances by Andrea Bocelli, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robbie Williams. The Village People will close the event with their iconic hit "Y.M.C.A.," a song notably favored by U.S. President Donald Trump, who is anticipated to attend. The song has appeared at numerous Trump events, including a rally just before his second inauguration.

In a special segment, FIFA plans to award its new "Peace Prize" during the draw, with FIFA president Gianni Infantino presenting it to President Trump, following his absence from the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize recipients.

Actor Danny Ramirez, known for his role in "Captain America: Brave New World," will also participate, conducting interviews with soccer officials and contributing to the hosting duties. Ramirez commented, "With the tournament coming to the United States, where I was born, and Mexico, part of my heritage, this experience is particularly meaningful, and I am thrilled to be involved."

The 2026 FIFA World Cup draw will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Friday, December 5, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
