Village People join Robbie Williams at World Cup draw

The upcoming World Cup draw in Washington DC this Friday will feature performances by legendary American disco group Village People and British pop icon Robbie Williams. The Village People are set to perform their classic 1970s hit YMCA, a song that has also been recently associated with former president Donald Trump's rallies.

The draw, which will determine matchups for the 2026 World Cup featuring 48 countries, is scheduled at the Kennedy Center at 17:00 GMT (12:00 local time).

Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, known for performing during Leicester City's Premier League victory celebrations, will also be part of the lineup, along with former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.

The event will be co-hosted by supermodel and Emmy Award winner Heidi Klum and actor-comedian Kevin Hart. Additionally, actor and producer Danny Ramirez will be conducting interviews with attendees.

The 2026 World Cup will take place from 11 June to 19 July, with the United States, Mexico, and Canada serving as joint hosts. Friday's draw will be broadcast live on the BBC through iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app, as well as on Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.
