China announced on Thursday that it is moving forward with efforts to make its rare earth export licensing system more efficient. This step is considered one of the main outcomes following talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Speaking at a regular press conference, Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yadong stated that the government is actively adjusting its approach and working to bring the system in line with broader licensing frameworks.
Earlier this week, reports indicated that at least three Chinese manufacturers of rare earth magnets had already obtained export licenses, allowing them to speed up deliveries to certain international clients. However, the spokesperson did not confirm whether any additional licenses had been approved.
The development of the new licensing framework began after a meeting between the two leaders in late October, which helped reduce trade tensions between China and the United States.
