Kate Middleton Reveals Festive Decor for Her Christmas Carol Service with Mary Berry's Assistance

Kate Middleton is revealing the festive preparations for her fifth annual "Together at Christmas" carol service. A newly released video on social media shows wreath-making in full swing, with special assistance from celebrity friends, including Dame Mary Berry.

The Princess of Wales team shared the clip on December 4, highlighting the creation of Christmas wreaths for the event at Westminster Abbey on December 5. The post explained that the Royal Horticultural Society helped craft the seasonal decorations, bringing a touch of traditional holiday charm to the iconic London venue.

"A heartfelt thank you to Tom Allen, Dame Mary Berry, Angellica Bell, Simon Lycett, and Arit Anderson for helping make this celebration memorable," the team wrote. "Join us as nature, music, and community come together for a joyful Christmas service at Westminster Abbey."

The video features participants at RHS Wisley Garden in Woking, foraging and gathering materials to make wreaths alongside local schoolchildren. Simon Lycett, celebrity florist and RHS ambassador, humorously noted, "We usually arent allowed to cut anything here, but with Mary Berry, we can do anything."

The group then collaborated with the children and Wisley gardeners in a friendly competition, complete with playful banter. Comedian Tom Allen remarked, "15 minutes left, that's hardly any time, but the main thing is we've got to be better than Angelika and Mary." In the end, Mary Berrys team won with a classic design, showcasing her calm expertise from years as a judge on The Great British Bakeoff.

Attendees of the "Together at Christmas" service can expect to see four large wreaths adorned with red ribbons, celebrating this years theme of "love in all its forms." Kate Middleton, who began the event in 2021 to honor community efforts during the COVID pandemic, will be present. Musical performances and readings will feature Kate Winslet, Hannah Waddingham, Dan Smith, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Kensington Palace previously noted that Princess Kate would bring her love of nature into the service through the decorations, with wreaths made by RHS Ambassadors and schoolchildren for display inside the Abbey. The Princess has also discussed how spending time outdoors helped her during her 2024 cancer treatment, and horticulturist Jamie Butterworth will create a festive outdoor environment, emphasizing the significance of nature in our lives.
