Kate Middleton's Christmas Carol Concert Tribute to Late Royal Family Member

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, will pay tribute to the recently deceased Katharine, Duchess of Kent, during her fifth annual "Together at Christmas" carol service. The event is scheduled for Friday, December 5, in London.

For this special occasion, Princess Kate invited young musicians from Future Talent, a musical charity co-founded by the Duchess of Kent, to perform. Katharine, who passed away at the age of 92, was married to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, Queen Elizabeth's cousin, and had a lifelong dedication to music, even teaching it secretly at times.

Before attendees enter Westminster Abbey for the service, they will be treated to performances by these gifted young musicians. Future Talent, established in 2004, supports children with musical talent from low-income backgrounds, giving them a platform to develop and showcase their abilities.

Princess Kates inclusion of Future Talent in this year's carol service is a meaningful way to honor the Duchess of Kents legacy, while also providing these young artists a unique opportunity to perform in front of a royal audience.

The theme of the 2025 "Together at Christmas" service is "love in all its forms", resonating deeply with Princess Kates personal milestone of announcing her remission from cancer earlier this year.

Notable performers such as Kate Winslet, Hannah Waddingham, Dan Smith, and Chiwetel Ejiofor will also take part in the evening, which will host approximately 1,600 attendees at Westminster Abbey. This annual event not only celebrates music and the holiday season but also brings the royal family together, as seen in Princess Kate's attendance at the Duchess of Kents funeral on September 16.
