Sweden is preparing to extend its assistance to Ukraine, aiming to help civilians endure another harsh winter amid ongoing conflict. The Swedish government revealed on Tuesday that over 1.1 billion kronor ($116 million) will be allocated to Kyiv.
The funding is designed to maintain energy supplies, support the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure, and provide healthcare services for the Ukrainian population. Since the Russian invasion in February 2022, Sweden and other Nordic nations have been steadfast allies of Ukraine.
Official figures show that Sweden has contributed approximately 109 billion kronor to Ukraine so far. The new aid package comes in response to targeted Russian strikes on Ukraines energy network, which aim to weaken civilian resilience during the cold months.
