Keshet International Signs First-Look Deal With Sony Pictures TV, Plans 'Save The Date' Remake With Dana Fox

Keshet International has entered into a multi-year first-look agreement with Sony Pictures Television. Through this partnership, Sony will gain priority rights to develop and produce English-language adaptations from Keshet Internationals scripted portfolio in collaboration with Keshet Studios, the companys U.S.-based production division.

The initial project under this agreement is a U.S. remake of the popular Keshet 12 romantic comedy series Save the Date. Dana Fox, known for her work on Wicked: Part One and Wicked: For Good, has been appointed as showrunner and will serve as both writer and executive producer under her overall deal with Sony Pictures Television.

Keshet Studios, led by Peter Traugott since 2014, will also work alongside Sony to develop original scripted content. Save the Date follows Dassy, a successful wedding planner who suddenly finds herself single. After a love spell from her grandmother goes awry, Dassy ends up balancing four suitors from her past and present as she navigates toward her own happily ever after.

The original Israeli series stars Tomer Capone (The Boys) and Adi Havshush (Sirens) and airs on Keshet 12, Israels leading television network. Following its record-breaking ratings in 2024, the show has been renewed for a second season. Created by Ori Gross, Yoav Tsafir, Tmira Yardeni, Tamara Salem, and Tamar Marom, with Eitan Zur as director, the series has been sold internationally, including Netflix distribution and local adaptations in Greece and Germany.

Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures Television Studios, praised Keshets global impact and creative excellence, noting the excitement of collaborating with Dana Fox on the project. Keshet International CEO Keren Shahar emphasized the synergy between the companies, describing the collaboration as a natural progression for Keshet Studios.

Previously, Keshet Studios had first-look deals with Universal Television, resulting in productions such as La Brea (NBC), The Baker and the Beauty (ABC), The Brave (NBC), and Wisdom of the Crowd (CBS), as well as the award-winning A Body That Works. The studio has also produced series including Echo 3 (Apple TV), Our Boys (HBO), Dead Girls Detective Agency (Snap), and A Small Light (National Geographic/Disney+).

Peter Traugott highlighted the creative energy of partnering with Sony, particularly on their first collaboration with Dana Fox. Keshet International and Keshet Studios are represented by WME, while Fox is represented by UTA and Myman Greenspan Fox.
