Kevin Hassett, the leading economic adviser under former President Trump, faced ridicule after appearing on television to highlight a minimal price drop on a common seasonal item. During his interview with Rachel Campos-Duffy on Fox & Friends Weekend, Hassett proudly reported, Turkey prices have fallen by 19 cents.
Hassett, who serves as the head of the White House National Economic Council, continued by describing his personal shopping experiment. He explained that he purchased two different types of turkey, referencing criticism he had received on another show for recommending generic options. I didnt notice much difference between them. Next year, you can choose the cheaper turkey or splurge on the premium one, he advised viewers.
