Bernese Mountain Dog Refuses to Go Outside Today

Many dogs love spending time outdoors, regardless of the weather, except when its raining. While certain breeds excel in chilly climates and others enjoy sunny days by the pool, most dogs adapt easily. However, one Bernese Mountain Dog named Franklin is proving that not all cold-weather breeds enjoy low temperatures.

Although Franklin often asks to go outside, he quickly decides that staying on the couch is far more appealing once he feels the cool air. His owner recently shared a TikTok video capturing his humorous reaction to the cold, showing just how much he prefers indoor comfort over frigid conditions.

In the video caption, Franklins mom explains, Its a crisp 40 degrees outside and Franklin prefers to stay in the house! She opens the door for him, but its obvious he wont linger outdoors. True to form, Franklin steps outside briefly, evaluates the situation, and immediately heads back inside, leaving no time for sniffing, exploring, or even a quick bathroom break.

Other dog owners can relate. One commenter, @kmilnamow, mentioned, I walk a Berner and that dog REFUSES to go anywhere if the temp isnt between 60-63 degrees. Franklins mom responded with a laugh, Theyre so dramatic. LOL! Another viewer, @Sarah, joked that winter breeds like Bernese Mountain Dogs might find 40 degrees too warm, explaining Franklins reluctance.

Even though Franklin is considered a winter dog, he clearly has his own limits when it comes to cold weatherand we completely understand. His story reminds us that every dog has its own personality, quirks, and comfort zones.
