Brett Gelman Reveals 'Big Soap' in Exciting New 'Stranger Things' Collaboration

Following the release of "Stranger Things Volume 1," Brett Gelman returns as Murray Bauman for a final outing, this time taking his investigative paranoia into the bathroom. In a unique collaboration with Dr. Squatch, Gelman embodies Baumans intense style to tackle what he considers a major threat: Big Soap, a sector he claims is packed with harsh chemicals and artificial ingredients, long hidden from the public.

His findings? A collection of "Stranger Things"-themed soaps and deodorants from Dr. Squatch, which Bauman presents as proof that natural grooming products might be humanitys best defense against synthetic additives and even otherworldly chaos.

Murray Bauman Investigates Hygiene Conspiracies

The campaign is styled as a playful homage to vintage TV specials, blending Dr. Squatchs humor with nostalgic nods to Hawkins. Bauman leads viewers through a mock investigation, revealing the Dr. Squatch "Stranger Things" lineupsoaps and aluminum-free deodorants made with over 98% natural ingredients from the brands Odor Defense Lab.

If theres one thing Murray Bauman knows, its that cover-ups exist, and Big Soap has been hiding in our showers for years, Gelman said. Thanks to Dr. Squatch, Ive exposed it and Ive never smelled better while doing it.

Why Bauman Was Chosen for the Campaign

John Ludeke, SVP of Global Marketing at Dr. Squatch, explained that Baumans chaotic, truth-seeking personality made him ideal for the campaign. Brett brought the same skepticism and curiosity we hope men apply to their grooming routines and product choices, he said.

Content from the campaign will appear across Dr. Squatchs digital platforms during the fifth and final season of "Stranger Things."

  • Squawk Signal: Light-grit soap paired with aluminum-free deodorant, combining pumice, coconut oil, and wild orchard extract with lavender and cherry soda notes for an adventurous vibe.
  • Experiment No. 11: Medium-grit bar featuring pumice, coconut oil, and rainbow plant extract, delivering citrus and metallic scents reminiscent of Hawkins Laboratory.
  • Hellfire & Beyond: Medium-grit soap with a matching deodorant, made with pumice, coconut oil, and Dragons Blood extract, offering bold pepper, clove, and leather aromas inspired by the Hellfire Club.
