Prepare for the ultimate shower experience. Dr. Squatch has joined forces with Stranger Things actor Brett Gelman for a vintage-inspired campaign and a limited-edition lineup of soaps and deodorants. The collection draws inspiration from Gelmans eccentric character, Murray Bauman, and the eerie world of Hawkins.
The launch coincides with the first part of the eagerly awaited Season Five of Stranger Things on Netflix, which begins with a mission to track the monster Vecna in the Upside Down. Part two is set to premiere on Christmas Day.
Gelmans character, Murray Bauman, known for his conspiracy theories, takes on the task of uncovering harmful chemicals and artificial additives hiding in everyday products through a series of Dr. Squatch videos. If theres one thing Murray knows, its that theres always something being hidden, and it turns out Big Soap has been covering up in our showers for years, Gelman said. Thanks to Dr. Squatch, I cracked the caseand Ive never smelled better while investigating.
The Limited-Edition Collection
The four-scent set channels Baumans gritty personality with fragrances like Descend Into the Upside Down With Vecnas Curse and Lather Up for a Late-Night Hawkins Mission with Squawk Signal, blending pumice and coconut oil. Descend Into the Upside Down features ground vanilla vine, crisp juniper, and blood orange notes, while Lather Up for Late-Night combines icy lavender with fizzy cherry soda.
Other scents include Step into the Industrial Chill of Hawkins Laboratory With Experiment No. 11, enriched with rainbow plant extract for a cool, sharp aroma, and Unleash the Hellfire Clubs Fiery Spirit with Hellfire & Beyond, featuring dragons blood extract for a scent inspired by dungeons and Demogorgons.
Availability and Pricing
The full Stranger Things four-pack is priced at $32, while individual bars of soap are $6 each at Target stores and online at drsquatch.com. The deodorants are $14 each and available exclusively at Target, both in-store and online. The collection will be sold nationwide.
John Ludeke, Senior VP of Global Marketing at Dr. Squatch, said, Murray Baumans mix of chaos and humor was ideal to showcase the message weve been promoting for years. Brett brought the same curiosity and skepticism we want men to apply to their grooming routinesreminding everyone that what you use to get clean should truly be clean.
Founded in 2013, Dr. Squatch was recently acquired by Unilever to expand its personal care division. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
