Creator Provides Update on Release Date for The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie

Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty have been anxiously awaiting news about the upcoming movie, and creator Jenny Han has provided clarity on its anticipated release. Known globally for her TSITP novels during the 2010s, Han recently addressed the status of the film that will conclude the beloved Prime Video series.

During a public event, Han, 45, revealed that she has just completed the movie's script. I just wrote it. We havent started filming yet, she shared at The Wraps 2025 Power Women Summit.

Addressing widespread speculation about a holiday 2025 release, Han was clear: I know everyone hoped it would premiere this Christmas, but thats not going to happen. She explained that the tight post-production schedule of TSITP Season 3, which ended just a month before its July release on Prime Video, made filming the movie impossible in time for 2025.

In previous remarks, Han had already suggested that the movie would take time to reach audiences, noting that no filming had begun. I dont know the exact release date, but next year isnt realistic since we havent started shooting yet, she said.

Given Hans latest statements, fans should anticipate that The Summer I Turned Pretty movie will likely debut around 2027.
