Disney World's Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Removes Aerosmith Intro

Disney World has updated one of its signature attractions, removing Aerosmith from the Rock n Roller Coaster experience. As of November 2024, it was confirmed that The Muppets would be taking over the ride at Disneys Hollywood Studios in Orlando.

The classic introduction, which featured footage of Aerosmith members Steven Tyler and Joe Perry in a recording session before racing off to a concert, has now been taken out. Riders previously followed the band on their journey to a big Hollywood show. According to reports, the removal of this segment is part of preparations for the Muppets-themed renovation.

This change comes after Disney decided to transform the area previously home to Muppet Vision 3D into a Monsters Inc. attraction. For the first time, Jim Hensons iconic characters will headline a Disney ride. In the new storyline, guests will join a quest to find the Electric Mayhem band members, who vanish right before performing a major concert in Hollywood.

The Rock n Roller Coaster originally launched in July 1999 at Disneys Hollywood Studios, then called Disney-MGM Studios. Alongside the intro, the ride featured Aerosmiths hits, including Walk This Way, Love in an Elevator, and Sweet Emotion.
