Disney to Close Aerosmith-Themed Roller Coaster After 26 Years

After more than two decades of high-speed fun, Disneys Hollywood Studios in Orlando will bid farewell to its Aerosmith-themed Rock n Roller Coaster. The ride, which first opened in 1999, featured a pre-recorded video of the band performing in a studio as guests boarded the ride.

Disney World recently confirmed that the attraction will undergo a full transformation, removing all Aerosmith-related elements. The iconic indoor roller coaster will be redesigned to feature a new musical act: The Muppets Electric Mayhem. Plans for this change were shared earlier this year, highlighting a broader update to the Hollywood Studios area dedicated to the Muppets.

Originally launched in the wake of Aerosmiths hit I Dont Want to Miss a Thing, the Rock n Roller Coaster let guests ride in a gleaming limousine racing through the city to catch a concert while the bands songs played throughout the journey. The upcoming Electric Mayhem version will maintain a similar fast-paced concept, with riders traveling in a very fast limousine across Hollywood to reach a concert, accompanied by the Muppets most memorable rock tunes.

This is not the first time Disney has reimagined the Rock n Roller Coaster. The Disneyland Paris iteration, identical to the Orlando version, was transformed into Avengers Assemble: Flight Force in 2022.

Disney has not announced the exact closure date for the Aerosmith-themed ride in Orlando, but guests will still have the opportunity to experience it through the end of this year. The revamped Electric Mayhem attraction is scheduled to debut in the summer of 2026.
