‘Wicked: For Good’ Dominates U.K.-Ireland Box Office with ‘Zootopia 2’ Coming in Second

Universals musical film Wicked: For Good maintained its lead at the U.K. and Ireland box office for a second consecutive weekend, earning 7.7 million ($10.1 million) and bringing its total to 32 million ($42.2 million), according to Comscore.

Disneys animated sequel Zootopia 2 debuted in second place with $7.8 million, while Lionsgate U.K.s Now You See Me: Now You Dont claimed third with $797,450, raising its cumulative total to $7.2 million.

Event cinema continued its strong performance as CinemaLives Westlife Royal Albert Hall (25th Anniversary Concert) opened fourth with $694,430. Picturehouse Entertainments Pillion rounded out the top five with $458,630.

Further down the chart, Paramounts The Running Man took seventh with $351,770, totaling $5.7 million. StudioCanals Nuremberg earned $329,200, reaching $3.4 million cumulatively. NT Lives The Fifth Step NT Live 2025 debuted in eighth at $266,390. Predator: Badlands from Disney placed ninth with $191,150, totaling $7 million, while Paramounts A Paw Patrol Christmas closed the top ten with $136,580, accumulating $1.1 million.

Upcoming Releases in the U.K. and Ireland

This week, cinemas are welcoming a mix of concerts, dramas, and holiday-themed films. On Wednesday, Trafalgar Releasing presents Monsta X: Connect X in Cinemas, featuring the K-pop group, directed by Yeji Lee and Yoondong Oh. Thursday sees the release of Akhanda 2, a Telugu-language film from Dreamz Entertainment, alongside The Doors: When Youre Strange, a restored archival film about the legendary band.

Curzon revives Jean Vigos LAtalante, while limited releases feature BUFF Studios Magazine Dreams, Netflixs Cover-Up, Dogwoofs teen documentary Folktales, MetFilms political doc Prime Minister, and Jafar Panahis Palme dOr winner It Was Just an Accident from Mubi. We Are Parable presents the migrant drama Dreamers, alongside action films Son of the Soil and Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh.

The week concludes with Piece of Magic Entertainments seasonal event Andre Rieus 2025 Christmas Concert: Merry Christmas and Dreamz Entertainments Telugu motocross film Biker, offering audiences a mix of family, genre, specialty, and holiday-themed entertainment heading into the festive season.
