Ex-WWE Star Hornswoggle Shares Insights on Therapy Benefits

Dylan Postl, widely recognized by WWE fans as "Hornswoggle," has often shared his fond memories of his wrestling career, expressing gratitude towards Vince McMahon for involving him in key storylines that he otherwise might not have been a part of. However, in a candid conversation on The Ariel Helwani Show, Postl opened up about his ongoing battle with mental health issues and how therapy has helped him cope with these challenges.

Postl shared, "I see it as, at times, realistic thinking... In my mind, it's realistic to say, 'I don't deserve this, but it's pretty awesome.' I am definitely a therapist's number one client." He explained that his perspective tends to lean towards negativity, which makes him appreciate his successes even more than others might. "I started seeing a therapist about a year ago, and it's been amazing," he added.

Despite dealing with mental health difficulties, Postl emphasized that he allowed himself to enjoy his dream of being a professional wrestler. Reflecting on his earlier career, he admitted, "I didn't earn it! I didn't earn anything!" He recalled that before becoming a well-known WWE figure, he had been a "once-a-month wrestler."

Hornswoggle also opened up about his belief that he did not truly "earn" his place in wrestling, attributing his success more to luck than skill. He specifically credited wrestler Ken Anderson for recommending him, which played a crucial role in his breakthrough. "I always say: 'Man, I lasted ten years!' Either I was decent, or I was really good at hiding!" he joked, admitting that he still can't quite figure out the secret to his longevity in the industry.

The former Cruiserweight Champion explained that finding the right balance between confidence and professionalism has always been challenging for him. "Ego is a very thin linebelieving in yourself versus believing in yourself too much," he noted. Postl revealed that, thanks to his sons encouragement, he has finally been able to watch some of his past matches, something he previously avoided. "I've probably watched maybe five matches of my own in total," he confessed. "I just don't like seeing myself on screenI don't like how I look, move, or how I analyze my in-ring skills."

However, Postl did share that one match stands out as his proudest moment: "WeeLC was the one I could watch the most, because it's the most perfect thing I've ever done, and I will never top it. Ever."

Postl's journey to WWE began thanks to the support of former United States Champion, Mr. Kennedy. "He really put my name out there," Postl said, reflecting on how pivotal Kennedy was in launching his career.
