"Forks Out," Unforeseen Sesame Street X Benoit Blanc Crossover

The season for detective Benoit Blanc is back with the upcoming release of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery on Netflix. To mark the occasion, the classic murder mystery franchise receives an unexpected twist: a playful collaboration with Sesame Street.

The result is a five-minute short film titled "Forks Out", where detective Beignet Blanc must solve the curious case of who devoured Cookie Monster's delicious triple berry pie. Fans of Sesame Street will spot familiar faces such as Grover, Oscar the Grouch, and, naturally, Cookie Monster himself.

The highlight of the short is a puppet version of Daniel Craig, remarkably resembling the famed James Bond actor. Many viewers, including myself, were convinced that Craig voiced the character, only to find out that the voice is actually provided by Sesame Street veteran Matt Vogel, who perfectly captures Blancs mannerisms.

While Netflix has previously created playful crossovers with various franchises, this one leans more into corporate synergy, as Netflix currently holds the streaming rights to Sesame Street. Still, it feels appropriate, given that Sesame Street once collaborated with Stranger Things long before the childrens program was available on the streaming platform.

Episodes of Sesame Street are now accessible on Netflix, and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery premieres on December 12.
