Jason Kelce opens up about the heartbreaking loss of his wife Kylie's pregnancy: 'Overwhelmed by sorrow'

Jason Kelce, the retired Philadelphia Eagles star, has shared the profound grief he experienced after his wife, Kylie, endured a deeply painful pregnancy loss early in their marriage. Speaking candidly, Kelce described how the tragedy highlighted the importance of having a supportive network outside the home.

The 38-year-old, who co-hosts the podcast New Heights with his brother Travis, reflected on the loss during an emotional address at the March of Dimes 43rd Annual Sports Luncheon, where he received the March of Dimes Sports Achievement Award, presented by Kylie, 33.

Kelce recounted the devastating event, which occurred on his birthday, November 5, 2018. He described the moment as so overwhelming that he was unsure how he and Kylie could ever recover. At the time, he was a prominent figure on the Eagles, a team he had recently helped lead to a Super Bowl win.

"I remember stepping out to my truck during practice, overcome by grief," Kelce shared, reflecting on his struggle to process the loss.

He noted that while the experience was incredibly difficult, it also helped him recognize the significance of having a close-knit team and supportive community. "Moments like these reveal how amazing sports and teams can be," he said. "So many peoplecoaches, teammates, friendsoffered support, and it made me realize how common miscarriages are and how often they go unspoken about."

Kelce emphasized that the support they received was profoundly meaningful, helping both him and Kylie feel that they were not facing the loss alone. He concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to everyone involved with the March of Dimes, a nonprofit advocating for maternal and infant health.

Kylie previously discussed the loss on her podcast Not Gonna Lie, explaining that they had discovered the pregnancy in August 2018 but suffered the miscarriage shortly after sharing the news with family.

Since then, the couple has welcomed four children: Wyatt, 5; Elliotte, 3; Bennett, 1; and Finnley, 8 months old, whom they raise at their Pennsylvania estate in Haverford, an affluent suburb of Philadelphia. Over time, they expanded their property by purchasing three adjacent homes to create a larger family compound, with plans to eventually build a luxury mansion at the center of their 10-acre estate.

Kelce acquired the first home in 2018 for $680,000, which included a three-car garage, a greenhouse, and a pool with waterfalls. He added an 8-acre adjacent property in 2020 for $3.96 million and a third property in 2023 for $1.35 million. During a local zoning meeting, he requested approval to make extensive improvements, including constructing a new home and adding a fence for security, emphasizing the need to maintain the aesthetic of the area.

Their real estate holdings also extend to the Jersey Shore. In 2023, Jason and Kylie purchased a $2.2 million beachfront home in Sea Isle City, featuring wraparound decks, skylights, and scenic views of Ludlam Beach.
