Jennifer Lopez made a striking fashion statement at The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Gala, appearing topless beneath a loose-fitting brown blazer. The star was recognized with the Equity in Entertainment Award at the event.

During her acceptance speech, Lopez reflected on her early days in the industry as an underdog and highlighted the significance of representation for future generations of actors.

For the gala on Wednesday, December 3, Lopez embraced a sophisticated yet daring style. She paired the oversized blazer with a matching pencil skirt and suede stilettos. The blazer was worn open, revealing her bare torso underneath, adding an unexpected edge to her elegant ensemble.

She completed the look with a snakeskin clutch and a sparkling choker necklace. After gracing the red carpet, Lopez took the stage to receive the award from Kerry Washington, who had been the previous years recipient.

"I am truly honored to receive the Equity in Entertainment Award," Lopez said, emphasizing her personal experiences with equity in the entertainment industry. She recounted her journey as an underdog and the challenges she faced against stereotypes that sought to limit her potential.

"Even decades into my career, there was resistance to a Latina leading a major studio film," Lopez explained. "I had to work tirelessly to prove that we could headline romantic comedies, thrillers, and command a stage." She expressed hope that each role she takes on helps break down barriers and inspires a new generation by expanding what is possible in representation.

Lopez also touched on pivotal moments from her acting career, including her acclaimed performances in the 1997 biopic Selena and Marvels Kiss of the Spider Woman, in which she portrayed Ingrid Luna. She concluded her speech by vowing to "keep pushing, keep imagining, keep insisting on a world where everyone gets to take up space."
