Kanye West Required to Give Deposition After Allegedly Dodging His Sex Assault Case for Months

A judge has mandated that Kanye West attend a deposition, as revealed in a court document filed on Monday, December 1, and obtained by Globe. The 48-year-old music icon is facing a lawsuit for sexual assault filed by his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta. Wests deposition is set for Friday, January 16, just three days after Pisciotta provides her testimony.

Earlier reports from Globe noted that Pisciottas legal team submitted documents in October claiming Wests attorneys repeatedly ignored emails concerning discovery materials and deposition scheduling. The filings stated, In the unusual event that Defense counsel decides to respond to Plaintiffs emails, their responses are nothing more than breadcrumbs designed to placate Plaintiff for the purpose of avoiding court intervention.

The documents also highlighted that during an April court session related to another lawsuit, Wests attorney, Eduardo Martorell, openly admitted that he was not able to reach his client, and that he did not have a firm commitment from his client to appear for his deposition.

Pisciotta alleges that West sexually harassed and assaulted her over the span of a year, including unwanted touching, sharing explicit fantasies, sending sexually explicit images of himself, and demanding she send photos of herself. Her attorneys further claim, During the same time period, Defendant Ye orally raped plaintiff, forcibly touched her vagina without her consent, and masturbated in front of Plaintiff on multiple occasions.

After the lawsuit was filed last year, Wests representatives denied the allegations in a statement to Page Six, calling them baseless.
