Lauren Graham and Amy Sherman-Palladino to Release 'Gilmore Girls' Behind the Scenes Book

Lauren Graham and Amy Sherman-Palladino are bringing fans back to Stars Hollow, this time through the pages of a new book. The actor and the creator of Gilmore Girls are joining forces to produce an in-depth look at the iconic series.

Celadon Books, part of the Macmillan publishing group, has secured the rights to the project, with a planned release set for fall 2027.

The book will delve into the production of the WB/CW dramedy and examine how Gilmore Girls became a cultural touchstone, including its seasonal spikes in streaming on Netflix. Graham and Sherman-Palladino will share behind-the-scenes stories that have never been revealed publicly, along with insights into their creative collaboration.

This announcement follows the celebration of the series 25th anniversary, marking its original premiere in October 2000.

Deb Futter, president and publisher of Celadon Books and Flatiron Books, commented, This is the ultimate book for Gilmore Girls enthusiasts. Lauren and Amy are television icons, and their untold stories are a treasure trove for TV fans.

Graham has authored three nonfiction works as well as the novel Someday, Someday, Maybe. Sherman-Palladino recently wrote the foreword for Kelly Bishops memoir, The Third Gilmore Girl.

Expressing her excitement, Graham said, Collaborating with Amy to share our experiences from filming Gilmore Girls is a dream. This book captures the magic of those years, both the first and second times around.

Sherman-Palladino added, I would say yes to any project with Lauren Graham. Be it lunch or writing a book, I want to be permanently by her side. Maybe its not entirely healthy, but its the truth.

The publishing deal was secured by Deb Futter for Celadon Books, facilitated by Cait Hoyt, Mollie Glick, and Esther Newberg at CAA.
