Christmas can be tough for me because I have an issue with paper, Cyrus admitted. The real challenge is when people with dry hands touch paper during the cold season. Its everywhere and it really bothers me. While explaining her feelings, she began to gag and acknowledged that the fear qualifies as a true phobia.

Cyrus said that her fianc, musician Maxx Morando, assists her in managing this fear. Thats actually why I got engaged, she joked. I make him handle all the packages outside because cardboard is the worst.

When host Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the traditional paper anniversary, Cyrus laughed and said she would not follow conventional gift traditions. She further explained that smooth surfaces like waxed paper are tolerable for her, referencing her previous marriage to Liam Hemsworth in a lighthearted manner.

The singer clarified that her phobia is selective. Rolling papers are not an issue since her hands are not dry. She avoids opening letters and prefers digital books over physical ones, though wax paper is acceptable when she writes her own book.

Cyrus traced the origin of her fear back to childhood road trips with her mother and siblings, during which her brothers would rub paper together to annoy her. Now, with Morandos support, she manages it more comfortably.

Discussing holiday gifts, Cyrus explained that she prefers items that fit inside silk stockings, avoiding paper entirely.
