Mon Laferte, Lunay, and Others Make a Statement at the Fashion Awards

On Monday, Dec. 1, Londons Fashion Awardsoften compared to the U.K.s Met Galagathered international talent. Mexican-American designer Willy Chavarra showcased an array of Latin artists, including Mon Laferte and Lunay, alongside Mahmood and Ellie Goulding. Chavarra, nominated for Designer of the Year, emphasized human dignity through his designs at the high-profile event.

Chilean icon Mon Laferte turned heads in a striking ruby red leather coat-dress paired with platinum blonde hair. Puerto Rican sensation Lunay wore a metallic olive-toned trench inspired by zoot suits, also crafted by Chavarra. Working with Willy is always inspiring, Lunay shared. Being surrounded by such creativity and attending as his guest is an honor. I always leave feeling my most authentic self.

Known for his bold tailoring, oversized silhouettes, and fusion of high fashion with streetwear, Chavarras work reflects Chicano and Latino culture and has become a staple on red carpets and in pop culture.

Becky G Premieres Documentary in Inglewood

Becky G hosted the premiere of her documentary Rebbeca at the Miracle Theatre in Inglewood on Sunday, Nov. 30. The event, supported by Miracle Theatre and Patrn Tequila, featured appearances from Wilmer Valderrama, will.i.am, Chiquis Rivera, Dolores Huerta, and local officials. The films nationwide release is set for Dec. 10 and 13.

I always knew the premiere would be in my hometown, but I wasnt ready to see so many familiar faces, Becky G said. Seeing everyone here brought back so many memories of growing up in this community.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, music leaders convened for The Rise of Msica Mexicana: Lessons for the Global Music Industry.
