Queen Camilla Unveils Second Tiara in 2 Weeks Linked to Queen Elizabeth

Queen Camilla dazzled in a tiara historically linked to Queen Elizabeth during a state banquet at Windsor Castle, honoring the German president and first lady on December 3. This marked her second public appearance in a notable tiara within two weeks.

For the event, the 78-year-old Queen wore a green lace evening gown by Fiona Clare, paired with an emerald and diamond necklace, diamond earrings, and the Order of Germany sash. She completed her look with the Girls of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Tiara, a piece long associated with Queen Elizabeth and frequently depicted on British and Commonwealth coins and banknotes.

The tiara, according to the Royal Collection Trust, was a wedding gift in 1893 to the Duchess of York, later Queen Mary, funded by Lady Eva Greville and purchased from Garrard. Surplus funds from the campaign were donated to families of sailors lost in the HMS Victoria disaster.

The banquet included King Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Anne with Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward with Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Princess Kate debuted Queen Victorias Oriental Circlet Tiara, marking her fifth different tiara appearance.

Among the 152 guests was model Claudia Schiffer, now Lady Vaughn. The royal procession saw King Charles and Queen Camilla entering with Germanys president and first lady, while other members of the royal family walked alongside German officials.

The banquet menu featured ingredients from royal estates, including Windsor partridge, and wines chosen with personal significance, such as a 1995 Chateau la Fleur-Petrus. The evening cocktail highlighted German flavors and referenced British royal traditions. Seasonal flowers from Windsor and Buckingham Palace decorated the tables, with unused arrangements donated to charities supported by Queen Camilla.

St. Georges Hall showcased a festive 25-foot Nordmann Fir Christmas tree, adorned with gold ornaments and thousands of lights, adding a holiday touch to the occasion.

This appearance followed Queen Camillas November 18 debut of the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara at a Diplomatic Corps reception, the headpiece previously worn by Princess Eugenie at her 2018 wedding. Over the years, Camilla has expanded her tiara rotation, notably wearing Queen Marys Crown at King Charles 2023 coronation, featuring the Cullinan III, IV, and V diamonds from Queen Elizabeths collection.
