‘Super Troopers 3’: Comedy by Broken Lizard to Hit Theaters in Late Summer 2026

Searchlight Pictures has scheduled Super Troopers 3 to hit theaters on August 7, 2026. The comedy will compete with Universal's One Night Only, directed by Will Gluck, as well as an untitled project from New Line Cinema.

Director Jay Chandrasekhar returns to helm the Vermont State Trooper comedy, reprising his role as Thorny. He is joined by the rest of the Broken Lizard team: Kevin Heffernan as Mac, Steve Lemme as Foster, Paul Soter as Farva, and Erik Stolhanske as Rabbit. Brian Cox also returns as Captain John OHagan, alongside Marisa Coughlan as Ursula Hanson.

The new installment introduces additional cast members including Oscar winner Nat Faxon (The Way Way Back) as Captain Todd Markowski, Chace Crawford (The Boys) as Baker Buchanan, and Andrew Dismukes (Saturday Night Live) as Coy Burns. Other additions are Hannah Simone, Iqbal Theba, Sakina Jaffrey, Jon Rudnitsky, and Lisa Gilroy.

Plot details for Super Troopers 3 are being kept under wraps. The original Super Troopers debuted in 2001 after being acquired at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to win the Audience Award at the South by Southwest Film Festival. A sequel followed in 2018, both directed by Chandrasekhar and written by, as well as starring, the entire Broken Lizard ensemble. Together, the films have earned $55 million worldwide on a combined production budget below $15 million.
