Apple TV has revealed the premiere date for the third season of the acclaimed spy drama Tehran, following a two-year delay triggered by the events of October 7 involving Hamas and Israel. The network confirmed on Thursday that the new season, which has already aired in Israel, will make its international debut on January 9, 2026, with episodes released weekly on Fridays until February 27.
Additionally, Apple TV confirmed that the series, winner of an International Emmy Award, has been officially renewed for a fourth season, currently in production. Details regarding the release date for Season 4 have not yet been shared.
Created by Dana Eden, Moshe Zonder, and Maor Kohn, Tehran follows Tamar (Niv Sultan), a Mossad hacker-agent operating undercover in the Iranian capital. After going rogue at the conclusion of Season 2 and facing the loss of key allies, Tamar must navigate a path to rebuild her identity and regain the trust of Mossad to ensure her survival.
Season 3, consisting of eight episodes, is written by Tony Saint and Simon Allen and directed by Daniel Syrkin. The new season welcomes Hugh Laurie (House, The Night Manager), Shaun Toub, and Shila Ommi to the cast, alongside newcomers Sasson Gabai, Phoenix Raei, and Bahar Pars.
The series is a collaboration between Apple TV and Israels public broadcaster KAN 11. Executive producers include Eden and Shula Spiegel for Donna and Shula Productions, Alon Aranya for Paper Plane Productions, Julien Leroux for Paper Entertainment, and Moshe Zonder, Daniel Syrkin, Omri Shenhar, Tony Saint, Dari Shai Slutzky, Tal Fraifeld, and Ronny Perry for KAN. Seasons 1 and 2 of Tehran are available for streaming on Apple TV.
