Hugh Laurie is set to appear in the upcoming third season of Apple TVs internationally acclaimed espionage series Tehran. The show has also been officially renewed for a fourth season, with a first glimpse of season three released this Thursday.
Developed by Dana Eden, Moshe Zonder, and Maor Kohn, with scripts by Tony Saint and Simon Allen and direction by Daniel Syrkin, the new season will stream weekly from January 9 to February 27 on Apple TV.
Season three features Laurie as Eric Peterson, a nuclear inspector from South Africa. He joins returning cast members Niv Sultan as Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan, Shaun Toub, and Shila Ommi, alongside newcomers Sasson Gabai, Phoenix Raei, and Bahar Pars.
Tehran follows Tamar, a Mossad hacker-agent operating undercover in Tehran. After breaking away from the agency at the close of season two and coping with the loss of key allies, Tamar must reinvent herself and regain Mossads trust in order to survive.
The fourth season is already in production, while seasons one and two continue to be available for streaming worldwide on Apple TV.
A joint venture between Apple TV and the Israeli public broadcaster KAN 11, Tehran is executive produced by Eden and Shula Spiegel for Donna and Shula Productions; Alon Aranya for Paper Plane Productions; Julien Leroux for Paper Entertainment; and Moshe Zonder, Daniel Syrkin, Omri Shenhar, Tony Saint, Dari Shai Slutzky, Tal Fraifeld, and Ronny Perry for KAN.
