Pathé Appoints Ben Browning as Co-CEO of U.K. Division for Revitalization of English-Language Film Industry

French media powerhouse Path is set to revitalize its English-language film division by naming Ben Browning, former president of motion pictures at FilmNation, as co-CEO of Path U.K. and president of global film.

The company announced that Browning will collaborate with Faith Penhale, co-CEO of Path U.K., to expand the studios presence in both film and television for audiences worldwide. Both executives will report directly to Ardavan Safaee, chairman of Path Films.

Browning, who will move from Los Angeles to London, is an Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning producer. He has led FilmNation as president of motion pictures since 2023 and previously served as president of production and acquisitions beginning in 2014. Under his leadership, FilmNation produced acclaimed titles including Arrival, The Big Sick, Promising Young Woman, Conclave, and Anora.

Path emphasized that Brownings appointment strengthens connections with the producers behind recent Oscar winners such as CODA and Anora, positioning the studio as a key player in international film and television. The collaboration with Penhale aims to support British and European projects with broad global appeal, alongside premium television productions.

Ardavan Safaee commented, We are thrilled that Ben is joining Path to lead the rejuvenation of our international film slate. His experience, judgment, and vision align seamlessly with our goal to make Path a leading European studio. Together with Faith, we have a strong leadership team ready to achieve this ambitious mission.

Browning added, I am deeply honored to join Path in driving its return to global filmmaking a company that has long been iconic for cinema enthusiasts.

Penhale said, Bens passion and discernment perfectly complement Paths commitment to discovering and nurturing exceptional filmmaking talent. With the studios independence and long-term vision, I look forward to working together and leading Path U.K. into a new chapter.
