The Testaments, Sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, to Premiere in Spring — Discover Release Date and First Images

Hulu has announced that the sequel to "The Handmaid's Tale," titled "The Testaments", will debut in April 2026. The reveal came during CCXP in Brazil, alongside several first-look images from the upcoming series.

The story continues to follow Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, exploring her journey in Gilead years after the events of the original show. According to the official synopsis, "The Testaments," adapted from Margaret Atwood's novel, "tells the coming-of-age story of a new generation of women in Gilead. These young women have only known life under Gilead's rule, without memories of the outside world. Facing forced marriages and lives of servitude, they must seek allies, both familiar and new, to fight for freedom and a life they deserve."

The cast also features Chase Infiniti ("Presumed Innocent"), Lucy Halliday, Rowan Blanchard ("Girl Meets World"), Mattea Conforti ("Power"), Isolde Ardies ("Wayward"), Shechinah Mpumlwana ("Lyla in the Loop"), and Birva Pandya ("The Umbrella Academy").
