After an unexpected two-week absence, Whoopi Goldberg returned to The View and shared the reason behind her time away from the show. Fans had noticed her absence, making her explanation highly anticipated.

The Emmy-winning actress and comedian revealed that she had traveled to Italy to take part in a guest role on the Italian soap opera Un Posto Al Sole. Her co-host Ana Navarro humorously greeted her with, We should say bienvenuto, because I think this one has forgotten how to speak English.

Goldberg laughed and admitted that she was somewhat disoriented, joking about not knowing what language she was thinking in or which time zone she was in. She described the experience as really good and noted that acting in a soap opera, especially in another language and country, was a unique learning opportunity.

During the episode, Goldberg shared several videos of her work in Italy, assuring her colleagues that she had been actively working while away. Despite the picturesque setting, she encountered challenging weather, explaining that Naples experienced constant rain and storms during her stay.
