Ray J, R&B singer, arrested on Thanksgiving following livestreamed altercation

R&B artist Ray J, whose real name is Willie Norwood, was detained in Los Angeles in the early hours of Thanksgiving, according to jail documentation. The 44-year-old singer was reportedly apprehended around 4 a.m., processed at approximately 6:30 a.m., and later released after posting a $50,000 bail, as noted in records obtained by Entertainment Weekly.

Captain Mike Bland of the Los Angeles Police Department informed the Los Angeles Times that Norwood's arrest was connected to allegations of making criminal threats. An LAPD representative told EW that no additional details were available at this time.

The incident followed a public argument between Norwood and his estranged wife, Princess Love, during a livestream. Footage shared online shows Love accusing Norwood of brandishing a firearm, while Norwood claimed she intended to drive under the influence.

Representatives for both Norwood and Love have been contacted for statements. The couple, married in 2016, have filed for divorce on four occasions and have two children: daughter Melody Love, 7, and son Epik Ray, 5.

Ray J, the younger sibling of actress and singer Brandy, is known for hits including "Sexy Can I" and "One Wish." Recently, he gained media attention following legal disputes with Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian, which involved defamation and breach of contract claims.
