Ticketmaster limits resale prices and refunds fans due to Olivia Dean criticism.

Ticketmaster has addressed concerns raised by singer Olivia Dean regarding inflated resale ticket prices for her upcoming tour. In a statement released on Thursday, the ticketing company affirmed its support for the Grammy-nominated artists mission to keep live music accessible and provide fans with reasonably priced tickets.

The company announced it will cap all future resale tickets for Deans "The Art of Loving Live" tour sold on its platform. Additionally, Ticketmaster confirmed that fans who already purchased tickets at marked-up prices will receive refunds for the difference.

Face Value Exchange Implemented

Ticketmaster stated it has activated a Face Value Exchange for Deans tour. This program allows resale tickets to be sold at the original purchase price without additional fees, effective immediately and without transfer restrictions. The company highlighted that it was the first ticketing service to introduce the Face Value Exchange in 2019 and continues to give artists the option to limit resale prices before ticket sales begin.

Fans who bought tickets through resale on Ticketmaster will receive partial refunds reflecting the difference between the original price and the higher resale price. Ticketmaster clarified that it does not profit from these markups but will cover the refund costs on behalf of fans. Refunds are expected to be processed by December 10, although bank processing times may vary.

Olivia Deans Statement

Dean informed her fan club subscribers that Ticketmaster and AXS have agreed to refund any overpayments and cap future resale tickets at face value for the North American leg of her tour. She emphasized that all artists should have the option to control resale pricing to maintain accessibility for fans. Dean criticized the secondary ticket market as exploitative and unregulated, calling on the industry to protect fans from inflated prices and automated ticket-buying bots.

Dean initially reacted to resale pricing on Instagram on November 21, following fan frustration over site crashes and high resale prices, with some tickets approaching $1,000. She condemned the practices of major ticket providers and urged the industry to make live music affordable and accessible. She also warned fans to be cautious of ticket scams in online comment sections.

Tour Details

Demand for Deans tour has been high. In response, she added three extra nights at Madison Square Garden. The tour, which begins in July in San Francisco, will travel through Los Angeles, Denver, Boston, and New York City, concluding in Austin, Texas in August. Dean is also nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
