In November 2025, actress and activist Alyssa Milano released an open letter directed at U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), denouncing the congresswomans long-standing loyalty to former President Donald Trump. The letter opened bluntly:
"Congresswoman Greene, lets skip the pleasantries. They were never your thing anyway."
Social media users circulated the letter in late November 2025, highlighting Greenes prior support for Trump despite her later disagreements with his administration on multiple policy matters. On November 21, 2025, Greene announced her resignation from Congress, effective January 5, 2026, following public tensions with Trump over issues including the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, foreign affairs, and health care.
Milanos letter, dated November 17, 2025, criticized Greene for fueling the MAGA movement and then acting surprised when she became its target. Milano argued that Greenes push to release the Epstein files was motivated by fear rather than moral courage. She concluded by urging Greene to pursue public, unequivocal accountability if she sought redemption, emphasizing full transparency about all wrongdoing witnessed or tolerated.
The key excerpts of Milanos letter read:
"Soyou've suddenly discovered that Donald Trump, the man you treated like a messiah, is not loyal and that the MAGA movement is not safe, not sane, and certainly not rooted in anything constitutional. And you're shocked that he's attacking you, endangering you, calling you a traitorYou helped create this monsterNow you're talking about accountability and transparencyReal accountability means going fully public with everything you know, every lie, every scheme, every threat, every abuse of power you witnessed, tolerated, or assisted."
Milanos open letter was verified as authentic, posted on her official Facebook and Instagram accounts, and published in full on her Substack.
In the letter, Milano criticized Greene for encouraging a movement marked by conspiracy theories and violence, while ignoring attacks against political opponents and public figures. Milano referenced Greenes controversial past actions, including amplifying QAnon claims, opposing bipartisan legislation on human trafficking, and publicly harassing survivors of school shootings.
Snopes reached out to Greenes office for comment on Milanos letter but had not received a response at the time of reporting. Milano has a history of criticizing Republican leaders and Trump supporters, notably comparing the MAGA hat to the Ku Klux Klan hood in 2019.
