Fox's Brian Kilmeade criticizes Trump's misleading statements on affordability: 'Should be more transparent'

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade recommended that President Donald Trump adjust his approach when discussing affordability, noting that labeling concerns as a hoax may unintentionally support Democratic narratives.

During Fridays Fox & Friends, Kilmeade, along with co-hosts Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt, discussed Trumps upcoming economy-centered tour in Pennsylvania. The conversation followed Trump repeatedly dismissing Democrats statements on an affordability crisis as a hoax and a con job.

Kilmeade explained, The only thing I think he could subtly change is the phrasing of all this is a hoax. At first glance, it may seem like the president is ignoring rising prices. However, he is actually highlighting the measures he is taking. What he considers the hoax is the claim that he is responsible for this issue. Making that distinction clearer would prevent the opposition from spinning the narrative, similar to how Biden promoted his economic agenda.

He emphasized that Trump should focus more on explaining inflation trends to the public, rather than dismissing Democratic concerns outright. Its increasing at a slower rate and is expected to continue declining, Kilmeade stated.

Earhardt commented that Democrats have yet to propose a plan that doesnt involve tax increases, a point Kilmeade echoed, highlighting the lack of an alternative strategy from the opposition. The current core inflation rate stands at 3%, slightly above levels when Trump assumed office, but significantly lower than the 9% peak seen in 2022 under President Joe Biden.

Kilmeade added, The president can list numerous initiatives he is undertaking, but can the opposition name even a couple of actions they would implement if they had the power?
