Sarah Ferguson Considers Several Options for Her Future Residence Following Split from Former Prince Andrew

Sarah Ferguson is currently evaluating multiple possibilities for her next home following her departure from Royal Lodge, the residence she shared with her former husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The former Duchess of York, 66, and Andrew, 65, will leave the Windsor estate after living together despite their 1996 divorce.

The decision comes in the wake of King Charles unprecedented move to revoke all of Andrews royal titles amid renewed attention to his past links with the late Jeffrey Epstein. A spokesperson for Ferguson confirmed that no final choice has been made, stating, She is assessing a number of options currently, and no final decision has been made.

Recent claims suggesting that Ferguson might move into an annex or a converted barn at her eldest daughter Princess Beatrices country home were dismissed by her representative. Similarly, the idea of her relocating to her second daughter Princess Eugenies property in Portugal has also been ruled out.

In October, a source told PEOPLE that Ferguson intends to establish a separate home, emphasizing that she has never asked for a property or any provision for herself and will continue building an independent life. Another close source added that she plans to secure her own residence and move forward independently.

No new address has been shared for Andrew, but sources indicate he will relocate to a property on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, about 110 miles north of London. It is also considered unlikely that Ferguson will move to Sandringham.

Royal Lodge holds many significant memories for Ferguson, Andrew, and their daughters. Princess Eugenie hosted her evening wedding reception there in 2018, while Princess Beatrice was married nearby at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in 2020. Questions have arisen over the couples long-term stay at the residence, reportedly without paying rent for 22 years.

The shift in residence comes after Buckingham Palace confirmed on October 30 that King Charles had begun removing all of Andrews royal titles, including the title of prince. This action followed renewed scrutiny of his ties to Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial, and the ongoing controversies related to their association.
