Ralph Lauren reveals uniforms for Team USA at Winter Olympics opening ceremony

As Milan prepares to host the 2026 Winter Olympics, Ralph Lauren has taken on the challenge of dressing Team USA for the opening and closing ceremonies. Known for its rich fashion heritage, Milan inspired the designer to create uniforms that blend style with patriotic pride.

Ralph Lauren has been the official designer of Team USAs Olympic ceremony uniforms for 20 consecutive games. The 2026 opening ceremony ensemble includes a white wool coat accented with classic wooden toggles and an American flag motif knitted into the sleeves. Underneath, athletes will wear wool turtleneck sweaters paired with tailored wool pants, combining warmth with a sleek, contemporary style.

Snowboarder Red Gerard praised the design for both its comfort and aesthetic. I love the casual feel and the winter white color, he shared. And theyre warm, which is crucial for a Winter Olympics opening ceremony. Gerard, a two-time Olympian and 2018 gold medalist in slopestyle, described the experience of walking out with Team USA as bigger than any other competition.

For the closing ceremony, Paralympic snowboarder Brenna Huckaby favors a design influenced by vintage ski racing attire. The look features a color-blocked puffer jacket with bold Team USA graphics, a wool turtleneck in patriotic colors, and crisp white utility pants. Its fast and sporty, Huckaby noted, appreciating that both Olympic and Paralympic athletes share the same uniform style, distinguished only by their respective logos.

Every component of the uniforms is made in the United States, complemented by red, white, and blue knit accessories, leather belts, and brown suede alpine boots with red laces. Lauren highlighted that the design process spans approximately 2.5 years, aiming to showcase American spirit through fashion.

Huckaby also mentioned the lasting value of the pieces. Some of these items are perfect to keep or gift in the future. The turtleneck sweater from the Milan ceremony is my favorite, she said, noting how she plans to preserve her favorites for her daughters. While exchanging clothing among athletes is common, she intends to keep her uniforms intact for personal use, praising the collection as chic and versatile.
