Will Alvin Kamara be back for Week 14? Injury update and fantasy advice for the Saints running back

The New Orleans Saints were without veteran running back Alvin Kamara for the first time this season during Week 13. Kamara sustained injuries to his knee and ankle in Week 12, preventing him from practicing at all the following week, and he was ultimately ruled out for Sundays game.

Looking ahead to Week 14 and the matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kamaras availability remains uncertain. Based on his lack of practice and limited recovery progress, he is more likely to sit out again.

Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports that Kamara is dealing with an MCL sprain. The injury is not season-ending but will require some time to heal. Underhill noted on November 23: "Alvin Kamara has an MCL sprain. Avoided a major injury, but we'll see how it progresses. He could take a little time, but nothing that's super serious or threatening long term."

MCL sprains can require multiple weeks of recovery, so Kamara may miss Week 14. Since the Saints did not place him on injured reserve, the team anticipates he will be out no more than three games, potentially returning by Week 16.

The first injury report of the week, released on Wednesday, should provide a clearer picture of Kamaras readiness.

Fantasy-wise, Saints running backs are risky options entering Week 14. Kamara could be used in a flex spot in extreme cases, but if he sits out, Devin Neal is expected to take the lead in New Orleans backfield, though with limited upside.
